Delete your account
You can delete your Kohana account, and the data attached to it, yourself at any time from the app. You don't need to contact us.
How to delete your account
- Open the Kohana app and go to Settings.
- Tap your email address to open the Account screen, then choose Delete account.
- Enter your password and tap DELETE ACCOUNT.
- Confirm when the app asks Permanently delete this account?
Deleting your account is immediate and cannot be undone. You need an internet connection.
Forgot your password? Reset it from the login screen with Forgot your password? first, then delete the account.
Remove specific things without deleting your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove something you posted:
- Comments: open the comment on the novel's page in the app and tap the delete (bin) icon.
- Private novel shares: go to Settings > My Shares and tap Revoke next to the share you want to remove.
Both take effect immediately.
What gets deleted
- Your account (email, username and password)
- Your active login sessions and registered devices
- Your export request history
- Your subscription / premium records
- Any private novel shares you created
What is kept
Novels you published, and comments or likes you left on other novels, are not deleted along with your account. They remain part of the platform, shown with a generic, non-identifying attribution instead of your account, so that other people's experience of content that was already shared publicly isn't disrupted.
If you would like your published novels or comments removed as well, contact the team before deleting your account and we'll help with that separately.
