The Workshop is where you make visual novels. Everything is done in the app, with no code and no computer needed.

How a novel is built

A novel is a tree of small pieces:

  • A novel has chapters.
  • A chapter has scenes.
  • A scene has actions: a line of dialogue, a background change, a sound, a choice.

Around that structure sit the assets the actions use: characters, scenery, music, sound effects and cutscenes, plus variables the story can remember, and the GUI that controls how the reader looks.
