Contains AI
You may create any kind of novel with the Kohana app, keep it on your device or export and host it elsewhere. However, Kohana's hosting services are intended for human-created work: novels containing AI-generated creative content are not eligible to be published or privately shared through Kohana.
Limited AI assistance, such as translating a novel you wrote or checking your spelling and grammar, is allowed in a novel hosted by Kohana. Every use of AI must still be disclosed when you submit the novel for publication.
Private shared novels are not proactively reviewed and do not use this disclosure form, but the same AI rules apply. Kohana may disable a private link or remove its content if a violation is reported or discovered.
The question
When you upload a novel you must still answer:
Does this novel contain AI-generated content? Art, writing, voices or music made with AI tools.
- No only if no AI tool generated content or assisted with any part of the novel.
- Yes for every use of AI. This includes AI-generated writing, art, voices, music, sound effects or scripts, as well as permitted assistance such as translation, spelling, grammar or clarity checks.
After answering Yes, you must also answer What part of the novel is AI? State which tool you used, what you used it for and how much of the novel it affected. For example: I used an AI tool to check the grammar of the English dialogue. You have up to 1000 characters and cannot upload until you answer.
Answering honestly does not make AI-generated creative content eligible to be hosted by Kohana. It lets reviewers distinguish generated content from permitted assistance. See the Community guidelines for exactly what is allowed.
What this is for
Your answer is not shown to readers anywhere in the app or the Web Player. It is a disclosure the review team uses, alongside the rest of your novel, when deciding whether to approve it.
What reviewers do
Reviewers see your answer and description and use them when reviewing your novel against the Community guidelines. Permitted AI assistance may be approved. A novel containing AI-generated creative content is not eligible to be hosted by Kohana and can be declined or, if discovered after publication, removed.
