Share a package

A Kohana Package is a single .koha file that contains your whole novel, ready to play. You can send it to anyone through any app: chat, email, cloud storage. It is free and needs no account.
Make a package
- In the Workshop, open the novel's menu and tap Export.
- Leave the format as Kohana Package (.koha).
- Tap SHARE.
- Kohana packages the novel, then hands you the file. On iPhone and iPad the share sheet opens. On Android a save file screen opens by default, and the share sheet opens if you set Download files as to Share in Settings.
Your novel needs an icon first (The novel needs an icon before it can be exported).
Open a package
The person receiving it opens the file with Kohana, or taps + (Add novel) in the Library and picks the file. It appears in their Library, ready to play, with no internet needed. See Library.
Play-only
A .koha file is play-only: it can't be opened in the editor. To let someone edit a novel, or to keep your own copy, make a Backup (.kohab) instead.
Good to know
- Images and videos in the package are compressed a little to reduce its size, and your original novel isn't changed. Audio is left as it is.
- The novel's files are packaged so they are not easy to browse, but a package is not a way to keep anything secret. Anyone with the file can play everything in it.
- Big novels make big files. Check each asset tab's sizes to see what takes the most space.
