Start playing
Open a novel's page and click Play in browser. Kohana downloads the novel into your browser and opens the start screen, where you tap NEW GAME, or Load game to continue.
Big novels can take a while to download, so wait for the start screen. It is the same reader as the app: see Playing a novel for the controls, Auto, Skip, the Player Log and choices.
Your saves
Saves are stored in your browser, on that computer. That means:
- They are still there next time you open the novel in the same browser.
- They are not shared with the app, your phone, or another browser or computer.
- Clearing your browser's site data, or using a private window, removes them.

Settings and language
Open the play menu for the reader's settings, such as text speed, Auto speed, music and sound volume. Novels with translations let you change the language there. See Player settings.
Full screen and sound
Use your browser's full-screen mode for the best view. Browsers block sound until you click on the page, so click or tap once if you don't hear music straight away.
Recommended browsers
A recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer. A fast connection helps with large novels.
